Immerse yourself in the gruesome, gory, and horrible history of medicine through the ages, from Greek theories to alternative remedies! Located in a beautiful Grade II listed church on Chester's medieval rows. A Big Heritage attraction. sicktodeath.org
There has been a covered porch at the front of St Michael's church for hundreds of years, first wooden and then stone. While it's likely that a stone church was first built on this site in the 1100s, >

Here at Sick to Death we always like to give a (horrifying) nod to history with our seasonal displays!
There are many holidays at this time of year that have similar themes of remembering the dead, and
the veil between the living and the dead being thinner:

Wishing you all the best on your studies ahead... but may your bedside manner be better than Plaguey D's.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away!"
Did you know the first written record of this saying is from 1886? It was noted as proverb from Pembrokeshire and originally it was said: "Eat an apple on going to bed, and you'll keep the doctor from earning his bread."

A reminder that next week, on Friday Sept 5th, we will be closed for the day! We need some time to clear out all of the real cobwebs so we have somewhere to put up fake cobwebs in a few weeks...

That's right. We actually do some legitimate history stuff too, it's not all just goofs and gags.
Hey, remember when I made these rubber condoms for @sicktodeath.bsky.social? I had expected, based on everything I read, that they would start to really degrade after about three months. And while they're *ahem* not 'handled' in quite the same way as intended - they're still going strong!

The summer holiday crowds have our staff reaching for energy drinks! Caffeine is known to have both positive and negative health effects. But at least it's not as bad for you as drinking radium! A popular ingredient in early 20th century 'energising' drinks, like Radithor. Maybe stick to coffee... ☢️

But they clearly would have won if the challenge was: name the best interactive hands-on history of medicine heritage attraction in Chester that's located in a Grade II listed church on the medieval rows.
We'll get in touch with Challenge Point about changing the challenges they have on offer...
