Grade II at 22-26 Bridge Street. Named for Anglo-Dutch trade, this 17th century townhouse has a secret - that historic frontage is from 1973-75! Chester City Council rebuilt it after 1960s dilapidation.

Grade I with the earliest identified shopfront in England! The three arches date to c.1200, the hall above to 14th century. The Rows' largest surviving medieval hall - yet probably the least well known. A hidden treasure!

Grade II* with medieval undercroft & 1643 townhouse built during the Civil War Siege! Was a dining room from the 1740s before becoming a pub in the mid 19th century. The old alleyway entrance is now part of the bar!

Grade I built on Roman fortress HQ foundations! Founded by Æthelflæd in 907, today's building dates from 14th century. Until 1803, the Pentice ran alongside - rooms above shops where Chester's mayor ran the city!

Grade II* at 29-31 Lower Bridge Street. The date plaque says 1503 but dendro-dating proves it's actually 1603 - a century out! Once had a Row enclosed in 1728 & a bridge connecting to the next building. The timbers don't lie!

A Grade I masterpiece! 14th century medieval hall wrapped in 17th century timber-framing at 17 Watergate Street. The alleyway next to the shopfront? That's the original medieval entrance - still taking you from Row to courtyard!

25-27 Bridge Street, Grade II Georgian elegance hiding an industrial secret! This c1800 building was adapted in the 1930s for newspaper printing - they even lowered the undercroft to fit the press. Each upper window is different too!

37 Watergate Street. The OLDEST! Grade I with undercroft fabric from 1180-1280. The twist? Its undercroft extends under the Row walkway - showing this medieval building originally jutted into the street before continuous walkways existed!
