Either Hori is projecting too much onto deku (w the whole nothing matters vibe), they're setting it up for a sequel (which I wouldn't even touch if so bec sequels are never good), or he's just that terrible at making closures.

I'm not surprised the jpn fans have the same reaction. This work is about being a hero. In the end he didn't even become a hero even when presented the option to. Even Naruto's annoying babies ever after is better because Naruto became hokage. Deku is just soulless and bland now

yall don't understand I am a real shooter for Izuku and seeing what Horikoshi has done to him is so sad. One of the most anticlimactic endings ever. I literally would have preferred Izuku dying in battle over this nonsense

Genuinely wtf is wrong with horikoshi?? Its okay if bkdk's not canon I never expected it but THIS?? Bakugou at 15? Izuku just giving up? Uraraka being "encouraged" by Toga? It almost feels like a fanfic rather than an actual chapter. What an anticlimatic story, you might as well have killed them off

As an anime fan since the 90s, watching the fall out the #bkdk not being canon is exactly like living through SasuNaru not being canon when Naruto ended. Sadly, in a mainstream shounen like this, the main rivals being queer isn’t going to happen. But honestly, fuck canon 🤷♀️ the fandom doesn’t need it
