Back from our scientific retreat - three days filled with inspiring discussions, supervision exercises, and lots of laughter! While science was at the heart of it, we also took time to go on a hike and enjoy some fresh air.

I'm super happy to be among the awardees of the 2024 WWTF Life Sciences grant. Together with Irene Görzer's lab at the Center for Virology of MedUni Vienna, we received 900k€ to study anelloviruses, an elusive yet ubiquitous family of viruses that infect virtually all humans without causing disease.

I am extremely excited to share that I have been awarded the ERC Consolidator grant! In our project GENE-TUNE, we will build regulatory landscapes and study how enhancer distance and enhancer cooperativity shapes genes expression levels!
