Spent the afternoon making a slow simmered chicken stock, poached chicken, and chili-ginger sauce. Later, made rice with the chicken stock and a cabbage salad with a fried garlic and sesame dressing.

I often kind of distrust food recommendations unless it’s from someone I know has taste. Two people recommended a suspect spot for this trip and I asked the bartender I was chatting up. He said “oh yeah… that place has been there for a long time” also read as a polite “not really that great”
