send this article to people you know still using X
2025 is coming to end and some people who claim not to be fascists are still associating themselves with fascist outlets like X.

I claim, perhaps charitably, that it's because they don't understand how the internet works. Either way, this needs to change.

We are facing a coordinated international fascist movement that works with explicit backing from Moscow, Washington, and tech monopolies, and is propagating itself through its own media apparatus. Yet...

we need an infohazard rating system. you can't tell me something is an infohazard without more info, it just makes me curious. [NO I'M NOT LINKING IT]

taking a break from audio stuff to look at atproto.

i want to do a little "gatcha game" project where bsky users can grab/trade/upgrade cards to make sets. basically the fun parts of some of the Web3 scams but without any money.

if you know of any existing projects like this let me know

New post: Living in the Inflection Point. On the cognitive overload of watching software change in real time, why the backlash against AI is valid, and why the most important skill right now might not be technical at all.

Living in the inflection point
I'm scared, I'm excited, and I'm exhausted by the pace of change. All of those things can be true at the same time. This blog post is a grounded take on living through AI's inflection point, why the b...

rust in release mode can compute FFT pretty fast!

this is showing 1.74 milliseconds per 32768-sized complex FFT with windowing etc. on a single CPU core in the browser.

(don't ask how fast debug mode is)

this is the best i can do for initializing my current egui rust app. i have to do `pre_new()`, then pass that to an async generation function and wait for it, then pass all that along to the actual `new()` function.

rust gods, egui legends, eframe heroes, i beseech you.

where is the documentation for `eframe::WebRunner::new().start()`?

i'm starting from egui eframe web template code. the third arg is some boxed closure thing, but i need it to be async. i can't for the life of me find docs here.

a fantastic read that goes into the problems with modern DJing, the 1 hour constraint, and rushing into the next track instead of allowing a mix to build, breathe, and take you on a journey.

1 hour slots arent nearly enough time.

cool ADC talk by @jamieanguswhiteoak.bsky.social

intellectually i knew that "real peaks" could be between samples. talk has lots of details and examples where it matters.

i learned that ITU BS.1770-4 has code to do 4x oversampling for loudness/peak detection.

now i just want to spawn a thread to do the fft computations, but no, rust on the web has other ideas. gotta do an actual web worker i guess.
