the best feeling i had in grad school was when i did reviews. i was like, 'i can write papers better than this'.

agree, working with people that love tech 'just because' is so fun. when hiring you have to be considerate that preferring more 'unbalanced' candidates with lots of open source projects etc. is discriminatory on many levels, like gender + class + life situation.

nice!

notes:
i prefer more contrast on text. it is legible and ok as is (just my pref). the contrast in light mode is 17.75, and 7.74 in dark mode.

the "?" over dog head in "why do we use that syntax" is low contrast (i think it should match bold text color).

keys in graphs are kinda light

i think basically Chinese, Malay, Indian, Others. since 2010 you can do 2 if your parents are different races. but i'm just going by wikipedia here.

Race in Singapore - Wikipedia

wikipedia:
"Singaporeans are allowed to change their race twice: once before the age of 21, and once at or after the age of 21. They would have to execute a Statutory Declaration stating their reason(s) for the change, and undertaking not to change their race again."
totally normal race laws
