Sooo excited to be going to the Women's World Cup Final. Tonight's game provided some key learning points for the Red Roses 🌹 but ultimately, a great result. Meg Jones is always my player of the match!

Great game! Master class in tackling from Meg Jones, some great moments all round & inspiring role models for my neurodiverse rugby girls. We're off to London for the final, can't wait! 🥳😍🏆

Saw my humans fighting with water, wasn't sure what was going on, made sure they were all safe, took a few blows, but am OK, very tired now. #waterfight #hotdog

Great day with the kids revisiting the Justice Museum & Nottingham Castle. We recently got back from the East Coast of the US where we visited some great museums too. I've been reflecting a lot on what makes a good museum experience for kids, maybe I've found my next career step!

Incredible news: Tyger is a bestseller in the US! THANK YOU to everyone @penguinschoollib.bsky.social for bringing it to the US, everyone @barnesandnoble.com for making it their monthly pick, and all the brilliant booksellers, educators & librarians who've embraced the book & made dreams come true!

Just back from the supermarket & have filled the fridge with fruit & vegetables, trying hard to offset the last 2 weeks of eating on the East Coast of the US... 😬

The advantages of the weirdly early summer holidays in Leicestershire - you can drive across the border to Notts and pretty much get a trampoline park to yourself. I love joining in with my crew, it's just such a giggle! I really haven't grown up yet... 😂

Funny thing about having been in education my whole life, as a pupil/student then teacher, is that the 'new year' thing is only ever been relevant in relation to the academic year. As we've just broken up in Leicestershire, it's the end of the year. Here's to some R&R before the New Year, cheers! 🥂

Last week I had the pleasure of spending some time with our new EYFS cohort, it blows my mind how little they all are! Then, as I watch our current EYFS have their transition day in Year 1 I'm reminded how much they grow & develop in just a year! Our EYFS team are phenomenal 🥰

I've just signed Ruby and myself up for the dog mentoring programme, can't wait for her to become a part of our school family! She's popped in for one visit so far and spent some time with one of our lovelies with complex needs, it was pure magic. She's gonna have a huge impact 🥰

Great listen, explores the challenges of the current climate well and Bill shares some really valuable reflections on micro barriers that left me pondering... He also speaks up about the importance of relationships with parents, which was refreshing to hear.

So grateful one of my fab team leaders took a moment to say thank you today. My favourite part was her letting me know she felt she'd been able to grow & develop in a way she'd never imagined because I'd modelled how flex/part-time wasn't a barrier to progression & inspired her to believe she could!

Running was tough today, it's a tad hot... 😅

Today was one of those days where you realise that being a primary co-head is a truly magical job! This is some of my fab team at our summer fair & colour run. We soaked & threw paint at the kids, then they got their revenge! Our amazing PTA helped us create special memories & raise lots of money! 🥰

Today, I was playing pool with my son and I missed a shot, it was close. He said to me, "Ahh that was a great miss." I really love 8 year olds 🥰

FSMs don't tackle poverty or lift children out of poverty. It's incredibly important, of course, but it's reactive. Tackling poverty & genuinely lifting people out of it, that's a much bigger piece of work...

I'm working from home today planning CPD. I've just had a Teams call from Year 3, they wanted to pitch a case for being allowed pencil cases next year. We had a lovely discussion and they got to meet my puppy too. Absolute joy, love this job ❤️

Picked these up this week to review alongside my bookworms at home! I really like being able to talk about & recommend books to the kids in school. Last year, I suggested authors/books for our Y6 children to try over the summer in my HT comment on their reports, that I thought they'd enjoy! 🥰

What are people's budgets looking like for next year? Anyone balancing their books?

This popped up whilst I was CPD planning & looking at our SDP, it was great to hear Bob's powerful words (beautifully exemplified). What we have been doing with our English curriculum has been challenging, but the momentum has been sustained because both staff & pupils are so engaged. Great article!
