Since people are almost certainly not reading the article, they aren't using AI to generate content for Wikipedia; they are selling the rights to scrape Wikipedia to train AI.
Seems like a win to me. LLMs get a knowledgebase to use for training, and the money helps fund the knowledgebase itself.

This is what baffled me. They got MORE amped up on anti-woke fear when it was in recession. It pretty much destroys any claim that they were responding to some kind of legitimate grievance.
it's pretty incredible that for better or worse 'woke' was sort of organically on it's way out due to general thermostatic backlash and then the federal government went full klansman and brought it back due to negative polarization.

They'll literally annex Greenland against its will and make it a state by force before they'll make Puerto Rico a state after the people there specifically voted in favor.

I think some of the struggle right now is that our institutions are populated largely by people for whom liberal assumptions were a given and their focus is on incremental, policy-driven change.
This is a completely different skillset than moral leadership in a time of liberal crisis.

The most important emotional skill is the capacity to experience and process shame in a healthy way. Almost every observable evil happening right now, if you dig deep enough, is just an ego on a downward spiral of self-justification to avoid experiencing shame.
