Reposting this since many are doing some holiday shopping. I’m not sure if you can use the discount code AND benefit from the current “Black Friday” sale… hoping someone will order and let me know! 🧪🔭
If you’re in the market for a book on the history of astronomy, praised by Cornell prof Martha Haynes as “A terrific blend of the science and the history,” good news! 🧪🔭

I have a 20% discount code for you, valid now through Jan 2026: 25SMA4.

In a crumbling four-story wada in Pune’s old quarter, an upstairs room stayed stubbornly off the grid.

There, a small woman in a plain cotton sari wrote longhand by daylight or by kerosene lamp.

This was Hema Sane, a botanist who turned her life into an experiment in ecological consistency.

I would love to get the hashtag #blessedunrest going (after the book by Paul Hawken.) To celebrate, in the face of all the madness, the quiet (or not) voices and actions all over the world that are conserving the good and repairing the shattered.

📸🔭 October promises to be spectacular for comets:
☄️ C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) will reach magnitude 3–2 and be visible to the naked eye in dark skies.
☄️ C/2025 R2 (SWAN) will shine in binoculars, with long ion tails in photos.
We’ll keep following them day by day on these feeds so you don’t miss the show ✨

A rather bright comet has been discovered in images of the spacecrafts SOHO/SWAN & STEREO - preliminary designated SWAN25B. It's 7-8 mag and w/ a nice tail. No orbit yet, but from the available data I suspect it could pass very close to Earth soon.

NGC-5236 is a spiral galaxy located 15 million light-years away. The difference between NIRCam and MIRI is quite fun to see, it also shows the importance to study objects in different wavelengths

This spotted owlet was hidden in the branches of a Mango tree. I saw it while looking for a Grey Hornbill that had come flying into the tree. This bird sat quite still and just rotated its head toward the directions from where it could hear nearby ibis and lapwings. #birds #IndiaBirding #nature
