Aw, this makes me miss the JoCo cruise so much 🥹
How did you find your community? Was it online? In person? Any tips for others looking to find their space and their people?

I’m really trying to make the switch over here, but the Lake Lanier account on threads has me in a chokehold

Man, 300 people are ahead of me on the library hold list for Careless People. I hate waiting for gossip.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS BOOK IS MESSY in a "I would watch this white mess as an HBO show" kind of way.

We can't save the world with games, but we can be part of why it is worth saving. We can't save the world with art, but we can brighten it. We can't save the world with play, but we can be a reminder of our humanity. We can't save the world with joy, but we can be a reprieve before the fight.

Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean performing “Killing Me Softly With His Song” with Stevie Wonder playing harmonica at Roberta Flack’s funeral today is such a special moment. 🥹

My #JoCocruise beach reads this year were Our Riches by Kaouther Adimi and This Could be Us by Kennedy Ryan. I also started A Quantum Love Story by Mike Chen.

All three are great, but my favorite: Our Riches, a tiny, bittersweet little story about an Algerian bookstore in the 1930s.

Of all the new books I’ve read since the election, Daughter of the Merciful Deep by Leslye Penelope hit me just right.

It’s historical magical realism and one of my favorite books about healing from trauma and finding chosen family. I loved how unapologetically it made white supremacy the villain.

Hard to choose a favorite debate moment, but I can’t stop screaming at when Harris said Trump was fired by 81 million people and he was clearly having trouble processing that.

His little angry manbaby face just fell.

I can’t believe I did a podcast about the Real Housewives franchise when 5 years ago I wouldn’t even admit I watched the show smartbitchestrashybooks.com/podcast/628-...

I watched a little bit of the debate last night and immediately switched to an episode of Scandal. I wish we had Olivia Pope to fix this mess.

I’m halfway into Just Playing House by Farah Heron and I’m already mourning the fact that this book will end eventually. It’s so dreamy and I’m completely obsessed.

#Bridgerton has been making me crave friends to lovers tropes. And this has an earnest hero getting a glow up by an ambitious heroine

Bridgerton, Season 3
Bridgerton season 3 is here! My plan was to leisurely watch one episode a week over the month between the first episodes dropping and the June 13 arrival of the final four episodes. Instead, I devo…

I’ve already watched season 3 of #Bridgerton twice, and I’m trying not to watch it a third time because I do have actual things to do but the Polin pull is so strong.

“Am I a terrible spouse?” I wonder while I wait for my White wife to emerge from a long line at customs. Or is true love letting her Black wife use Global Entry to avoid an interaction with Border Patrol.
Love is standing in the regular passport control line with your spouse, even though you have Global Entry

This is the face of a romance reader who knows finally getting her masters degree means she can spend the whole summer catching up on the best romances of 2022 and 2023. What did I miss?

This is the first summer I can’t buy my niece and nephew rainbow clothes from Target because the store stripped all the kids clothes from their #Pride collection. Homophobes ruin everything.

Does Hulu have any kdramas that are actually good? I never found a kdrama I didn’t like until I found Hulu’s “TV for you” algorithm
