Liable to write about this but the rise in sketch “comedy” on socials in the last decade or so has obfuscated the role of satire in society, sorta dulled it’s teeth and has made it harder for people to recognize thoughtful, meatier satire. Essentially POV sketches + “it’s not that deep” = 👎🏾 media

One of the most defining cultural indicators of the loss of American Hegemony will be a media renaissance that is decidedly anti-American. Movies, shows, shoots taking place anywhere but here, actors reverting to native accents not having to be American in everything, open anti-US media
