It isn't lost on any on us that it was the Republicans, under Richard Nixon of all people, who brought the EPA and its regulations into being. Along the way, regulations were adjusted and created with bipartisan cooperation. Sadly, we no longer live in a world of political bipartisan cooperation.
The Trump administration finally issued its justifications for repealing the endangerment finding for greenhouse gases.

There are so many fucked up things with the current administration that it's hard to focus on one but this recent move is basically a death sentence for the planet. I've been involved with more boots on the ground actions over the years than I can count and this really bums me out.

You can't prove received wisdom wrong if you don't try... and you've got to give China credit for not being afraid to try. A step on the way to serious reduction of shipping emissions by 2050? Or an expensive experiment with niche coastal uses? Time will tell!
