watched INFLUENCERS. loved it. the first movie was so unique and surprising and creative that i was skeptical the sequel would live up to it, but it totally did, and it did so without just repeating the same beats as the original. i definitely want to see more of kurtis david harder's movies.

rewatched TWELVE MONKEYS for the first time in ~25 years. it's not my absolute favorite vibe and is a bit slow to start, but the construction of the story is just so fucking smart and cool that it doesn't matter. 4.5/5.

My father in law got a birthday phone call and was on the phone for at least 90 minutes. He just hung up and has realized he has no idea who he was talking to. Boomers are built different, man. You couldn't get me on the phone for 90 minutes to my best friend.

watched SISU. i've always felt that more movies should feature somebody getting stabbed in the head, and when that happened within the first ten minutes, i knew i was in good hands. 4.5/5.

this is a great illustration of why it's bad to interpret everything that happens in the world through a single ideological lens. "evil powerful businesses bad, poor disempowered workers good" just isn't the appropriate framework to apply in this situation!!!

watched CENSOR. great setting and concept. somewhat rickety pacing is compensated for by beautiful sound and visuals. horror-coded, but almost more of a drama than a bona fide horror. recommend!
