Today marks one full year for this newsletter, and here's the 77th post (I thought once a week was going to be a lot, but there's so much going on I wrote almost 1.5 times a week over the past year). ...

(from what I learned from my failures and the feasts) #FacilitationWeek I’ve been thinking about the unseen labour and quiet courage it takes to hold space for others. Facilitation is not about directing from certainty, but about staying present inside the unpredictable field of human sense-making. So, in support of all buddying facilitators, especially those learning through both their feasts and their failures, here are a few field notes from my own practice…

Don’t start with how. Don’t start with why. Try a “howwhy” space instead. I am a thinker and a creator. Previously, I was also a producer, an organiser, and at the core, the salt and sweetness of these moments have been the lively connections that blossomed. And inspiring connections that help people tell the earth and each other : "you matter" is what makes me get out of bed.

Here’s one question a day to ponder as a solo soul or in a team When work is dense, when relationships rub, when thinking feels crowded or rushed, you’re invited to pause with a single question and let it breathe. Some questions want solitude. Others want company. All of them trust your timing. There’s nothing to solve. Just something to stay with.

What does it mean to nourish your relational tissue, especially at a time when you can be faithfully uncertain, stuck maybe, and want to notice and transform? Places of stuckness take many flavours, shapes and responses. There is a load, a drag, some stormy weather. These places are never really inert They just try to bend and contort for air and insight.
