Comic book artist Frazer Irving is having a tough time. He’s asking people to help by making a purchase from his shop.

It’s gorgeous stuff! I see original pages from Klarion the Witch Boy that are far too cheap…

Just watched ST:TOS - Journey to Babel, and only now I realise the Babel bit is about father, mother and son speaking different languages. Dorothy Fontana was so smart, easily the best writer ST ever had.

I don't suppose anyone has easy access to any fanzines that covered Blake's 7, published earlier than 1983? (Later than that is no good, and I've got all issues of the Marvel monthly.) It's for a thing.

Big fan of the new comic strip from @senrabnala.bsky.social and John Ross that begins in this month’s new Doctor Who Magazine. The end-of-episode cliffhanger is a perfectly executed fusion of writing and art. Hurrah! #DoctorWho #DoctorWhoMagazine #DWM

I was going to post this last week, but I completely forgot, so it's pretty much pointless now. Still: you used to get a much better calibre of New Year's Honours, HO HO.

My take on today's hot news coming next Thursday, sudden invasions notwithstanding.

Quite relieved to see that I only got one thing wrong in the book: it turns out that Irene Adler was renamed Irene Adair (why, I have no idea).
Massive thrill to see three Eille Norwood Sherlocks on a big screen. 105 years old!

New bio just dropped.
Barnes has his own crew and regulates them with his fists, dropping them in water holes if need be. Barnes is surly and enjoys a fight. Just before a fight he has a bland smile and his blue eyes glow with a disarming good humor. He will customarily take on four or five men at once, and win.

I think I'm just about done with all social media now. Every platform gets co-opted into the endless culture wars. Every "political" post or repost just makes everything worse, and yes, I do mean yours. Sorry, but I refuse to be conscripted. There is so much more to life.

A rather lovely thing: I met script editor Gerry Davis when I was a student. Unlikely as it sounds, he came to visit me in my room in the halls of residence with his daughter, Felicity, who was at the same college. He gave me this, which I will treasure forever.

At risk of sounding needy, or opening myself up for ridicule... I can't believe I'm the only so-called 'creative' struggling with an almost total lack of response to their work, post-Twitter? I was never in it for ego reasons, but it mattered, knowing your stuff was being *noticed*, at least... /1

I tell you what really pisses me off. I BUY NEW CDS ALL THE TIME, because they're BETTER. I use Spotify for running and for background noise in the office, because it's more convenient. Hundreds of thousands of people do exactly the same. We pay the artist AND use Spotify. It's not one or the other.
Yes, Spotify isn't great, but it's still better than HOLIER THAN THOU TYPES WHO JUST LOVE SCOLDING. I mean FFS
