Representing the 59th Senate District of New York | Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens | Chair of Senate Internet & Tech Committee and Elections Committee
Rising utility costs and disruptive construction have New Yorkers fed up. Read about my new bill (S9075) with @emilyassembly.bsky.social to fix leaky pipes and protect consumers, in @nysfocus.bsky.social.

New York Lawmakers Want to Put Pipeline Spending on the Map

My Statement on Governor Hochul’s Announcement Banning Local Law Enforcement’s Collaboration with ICE.
January 30, 2026 at 10:15 PM
This is a major step in the right direction & responds to the calls of thousands of NYers with whom I have marched with to demand that our state resist the anti-civilian & anti-immigrant attacks from ICE agents. We must do everything within our power to protect NYers and our immigrant communities.
Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday introduced new legislation that aims to "stop ICE from co-opting local law enforcement" in New York.

ICE is using AI to do its dirty work. Human rights are at stake when we allow tech companies and Donald Trump to dictate how and when AI gets used.

Rate increases are an impossible burden at a time when so many New Yorkers are already feeling the high costs of living and inflation. We are in an affordability crisis, and I’m calling for the Public Service Commission to reject ConEdison’s continued proposals to raise gas and electricity costs.
