Really good @schatz.bsky.social interview. IMO it's underrated how forthcoming he is about his own thinking, which I think is a good thing for people to know about who represents them. Also appreciate how he resists confirmation bias www.politico.com/news/magazin...

I love shitposting, but for R Street Institute I oversee all our digital and manage a lot of social media. Another Twitter-type platform is exhausting, but I hate to lose out on people here who I like a lot too! Twitter is more important for work at the moment but here is increasingly too
ALRIGHT I'll be here too sometimes

Thinking a bit more about this and... really, kinda amazed that no one at OpenAI thought that maybe this might look really bad at this particular time.

Like, read the room.
Huh. I'm sure that won't turn into any conspiracy theory at all from the likes of Elon, who is already (laughably) claiming that Apple's deal with OpenAI means iPhones are no longer secure.
It's old hat for somebody to leave military/government/intelligence work to take a job in tech, but to go from running the NSA to sitting on OpenAI's board within a couple months is a new one.

I came here to tell @wyden.senate.gov that i came up with a genius idea. Then I found an FTC report on that idea. Turns out that report was mandated by the CAN SPAM Act 20 years ago. Who wrote that, I wondered

Hey all! I'm really sorry I'm not here more but I'm just so slammed with work these days that keeping up all the accounts is pain.

But I wanted to share here -- for all those mad at Nikki Haley's proposal to end online anonymity, uh check out all the age verification laws/proposals being enacted
