None of the artists I know who are living from commission to commission are even close to comfortably well off. Asking people to pay what you know the skills you've honed are worth and what you need to survive is good and anyone who says otherwise is deeply unserious or hoping to exploit you.

I think a LOT of people should be actively having a conversation about this (especially people who are in the scene) because this is one of the major reasons why the POC and Black communities do not feel safe in these spaces and often times wards us off from ever exploring leather spaces.
Social media posts showing Tom of Finland Foundation's Durk Dehner wearing Nazi symbols sparked outrage within the International Mr. Leather community.
