A Democratic Party that reflected the values of its base would put this into its national platform: "Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans."
Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

Lawyer: I've been representing a mother and her 5 children. The two youngest children have lived 20% of their lives in that facility. We've had awful reports of mental health deterioration. This facility is a jail. It's unconscionable that there are children at this facility.

The City of Philadelphia has introduced legislation to limited ICE in the city. The Federal Agents can not be masked, must have ID visible, must have arrested warrants signed by federal judges. They can't attack people. If they can't do this, they will be arrested.

ICE activity has not noticeably tapered off yet here and in fact this week they seem to be focused on terrorizing kids at bus stops and schools.
yes, there are no real signs of any big change in DHS activity here yet. In Chicago there really was after Bovino left and they basically ended "Midway Blitz" not so here so far.
I don’t know, declaring victory in MN seems premature. They’re still arresting people and brutalizing the community. The changes appear—so far—to be cosmetic

It's amazing how this radical "step too far" is how every law enforcement officer in the country operated for our entire history.
Tillis says he opposes ICE being barred from wearing masks: "I've seen people dox me. I've seen people take pictures and identify law enforcement officers and then put their families at risk. So, I think that's a step too far."

A hallmark of authoritarian regimes is that anyone close to the autocrat who attains too much power gets stabbed in the back by everyone else in the autocrat's orbit. This chaos and conflict is to prevent too much power accumulation that threatens the leader. Miller will be pushed out.

BUT...he'd lose his security detail 🤔🤷♂️
Don't expect much more than that though. Miller would likely land some extremely high paid lobbying/policy gig while retaining a lot of soft power with admin officials. He's not going to go away.
