If the U.S. is going to use military force to invade foreign countries and capture leaders accused or guilty of crimes, then there is nothing to stop foreign powers from invading the U.S. and arresting and removing felon Donald Trump.

Next prediction- the US government is going to take a stake in some oil companies and loan them large sums in order to fix Venezuelan production issues. MAGA will think this is very smart and normal.

you're right but it could be argued the UK *had* one of the highest standards.

Post brexit and sans SPS deal, the illegal meat already entering the british food chain is likely going into the processed food sector. 👇
Spot checks have already revealed the scale of illegal meat entering the british food chain and it's quite staggering.

Meanwhile the UKGov, incredibly, has not fully informed the public of the issue and postponed checks until 2027, which is a very long time to play dice with food safety.

When I lived in the US, every year people would get sick from eating bagged salads. It was contaminated by ecoli from human faeces due to workers going in the fields and getting it on their knives. Don’t get me started on cattle farming!!
Their meat is tasteless too. Heavy use of marinades.

Please also look up byproducts of bleach. We are careful with that stuff in the EU for a very, very good reason (mutagens, cancerogens, hazardous waste)

Fear not though - not all US chicken is chlorine-washed. Some of it is treated with hydrogen peroxide instead.

A lot of people misunderstand that the objection is to the presence of chlorine, but as you explain, it is that the chlorine is used to compensate for a host of bad food hygiene practices.

The US has serious problems with food poisoning outbreaks, something that is rare here now.

The reason it's probably being rehashed is because some news outlets have headlined a renewed push by America to get the UK to accept their substandard meat.
We all know how gutless Starmer is so i would worry it will get accepted eventually via the back door.

If Trump gets his way you'd have substandard chicken in the UK food chain but it would also be much cheaper so UK poultry farms - which are built and regulated to those much higher standards - would be royally screwed.

It would benefit nobody apart from US farmers.

US chicken is chlorinated because America has no animal welfare laws where poultry is concerned. It has to be chlorinated because Salmonella and e. coli run rife

The EU banned that practice in 1997 and as such the UK has among the highest welfare and standards in the world. 1/2
