I’m getting to KNOW myself at 43 - it's a bit surreal!
I spent most of my life having no real idea who I was, just adapting, compensating, pushing through. The next half will be far less painful, now that I finally have the language and the knowledge to understand myself.

Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

Congratulations, António José Seguro, on your election as President of Portugal.

The Portuguese citizens have spoken and, in the face of devastation caused by the storms, demonstrated remarkable democratic resilience.

Portugal’s voice for our shared European values remains strong.

Two presedential candidates - one grounded in shared values, committed to representing everyone, and speaking based on facts, and another who uses hate and racist speech, that spreads misformation and lies.

The choice NEEDS to be overwhelming!
No space for far-right voices.
This is how it's done🇵🇹

This is precisely why Donald Trump and Pamela Jo Bondi are *obsessed* with controlling the voting in the midterms. They are terrified.
Donald Trump won this district in Louisiana by 13 points in 2024.

The Democrat just crushed a Republican extremist in this district by 24 points.

Folks, that’s a 37 point swing to the left. We can compete everywhere and win anywhere. Let’s keep this up!

We need more of this...
Three-time Trump voter: I'm looking at this awful picture of the Obamas. What an embarrassment to our country. He is not worthy of the presidency. He takes bribes blatantly, and now he's being a racist blatantly. He's pathetic as a president, and I want to apologize for supporting this rotten man.

the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

ICE rammed her car, shot her five times giving her 7 bullet wounds & absconded her out of the hospital after three hours wrapped in bandages.

These agents are savages!

TRUMP: You are so bad. You are the worst report. No wonder CNN has no ratings. She's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. They should be ashamed of you.

I agree with my anonymous colleague: the administration is not approving Council slates NIH has already proposed. That is why we have several Institutes who soon won't have a functional Council, a statutorily required part of peer review.
An NIH staff member texted me immediately: "His answer was bullshit btw. It implied that the fault was in NIH not nominating people quick enough rather than the administration not doing their part" to review the slates that agency staff had already submitted.
