again my heart just breaks for this person, beaten and executed on the street for trying to defend their community, and for the people of Minneapolis, who have just been targeted for this endless dehumanization and brutalization just because of who they are & the inclusivity the city represents

Painted cycle lanes are the non-smoking sections of today's urban landscape.

Both recognize a problem and the harms it causes, but are designed without the will or imagination required to implement a real solution.

BREAKING: “The Ford government’s plan to tear out dedicated bike-lanes from 3 Toronto routes has been deemed to be unconstitutional, according to a ruling by an Ontario court, halting a populist pledge driven by the premier.”

This is VERY good, life-saving news for Toronto, and for Ontario cities.

I don't care what side of the Israel-Palestine conflict your sympathies lie on, snatching up people with a valid student visa for the crime of writing an OpEd is naked fascism and if you don't oppose this you are a threat to this country's most basic values
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

We should be making voting easier and more accessible, so it is a bit baffling that the #KitchenerCentre local election office is in one of the least accessible and least populated parts of the entire riding

Zoning in theory: we need land use regulation to keep homes away from sources of pollution.

Zoning in practice: the *only* places you are allowed to build new housing are right next to the highways and high-traffic streets that are the city’s largest sources of pollution.

An expensive, stupid and deadly self-inflicted wound to his own Province by weakening its largest city and economic engine, all due to pettiness and to distract and rage-farm for political gain. Imagine weakening your Province’s success and endangering its people knowingly just to help yourself.
NEW: Premier Doug Ford's bike lane removal law has now been passed by the Ontario legislature.
The government has been preparing to remove three lanes: University Ave. Bloor St. and Yonge St.
