I never know what to say in these things.
At a retreat this weekend at the Banff Centre. This is the view out of the window to my right. Sadly, I have to pay attention to the projection screen. Shame.

@libertyhardy.bsky.social after hearing you recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl months back (& again on ep500), have you finished the series?

I’d strongly encourage you to try the audiobook version for a reread as Jeff Hays is an unbelievable performer. He makes it even more bananapants.

those royal match mobile game ads are actually very inspiring to me. they are a reminder that alone we may be as pebbles but together we are a landslide that may crush the bones of kings

Dammit @guygavrielkay.bsky.social, you’re slaying me with these.

I’ve had a Halloween skeleton hanging out on my front porch for 5-6 years now. He just likes to hang out and watch the world go by. He also likes to dress up seasonally.

He even shows up on the current Google street view. But they’ve kindly blurred out his face for privacy reasons.

These two weren’t scared of us at all. Probably could’ve gotten even closer had Maple not been so excited.

@annaleen.bsky.social The Terraformers (which is wild & fun, btw) is the second of your books explicitly mentioning/involving Saskatchewan. Don’t just like the word? Do you have any particular attachment to the province?

The weather here is volatile enough that we’ve had freak snowstorms in the summer. Pretty sure over the years that I’ve seen snow fall at least once in every month.

Tonight is the first time we’ve had rain in December. Can’t imagine why that might be…

Happy Fucking New Year

2023 was a very good reading year for me. I finished 60 books for a total of nearly 28,000 pages. Not shown in the graphic, I had 0 DNFs.

All it took was reading a minimum of one hour a day. Some days (like today) there were 4+ hours spent reading. 💙📚

Saw these fellas hanging out about 20’ off the path on our evening walk. My dog *really* wanted to go say hello.

Every year, people write letters to Santa (North Pole, H0H 0H0) & Canada Post volunteers help him with his mail so that everyone gets a letter back.

It really is a sweet thing.
