Zi gets posted for overseeing a project by the city canal, but a certain rival makes it a permanent position!

Zi is out by the Mid Canal of Canal City, the main artery of the city that connects to the rest of the Underground. There's important work that's threatened to be sabotaged by Rogues, and one seems intent on that now! Being stung by a mysterious device, Zi mostly reacts to annoyance with her natural resistance to electricity. But, before she could realize it, the zap was quickly rewriting her extremely manipulatable DND. By the time she starts panicking, she finds her self stiffening on the floor. It gets hard to see with her hair growing over her eyes, but that building nearby seemed smaller than she remembered... Not long after, the city would celebrate the grand opening of the Shepherd Lighthouse, promising increased trade by allowing larger vessels to safely dock and revitalizing the impoverished Mouth Yard with the new port also nearing completion. Of course, Laila knew very much this was not planned, as Dr. Shepherd's handler as Secretary of the Interior. But she had to admit this Rogue's plot probably saved the city budget a significant amount. It was probably going to take some time to find a way to fix her, considering regulations, so maybe it'll be looked into when there was a surplus. Although, they should probably have to look into the reports of the strange sounds and the windows seemingly glaring at citizens occasionally...

I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.
