Despite what some, including at DHS, are claiming, this video isn’t from a year ago in Chicago. It was Friday in Hoffman Estates, in my district, a street I’ve walked myself. It appears to show a child being violently detained by ICE. It’s real, and I’m demanding accountability.

This weekend will be the first playtest of the trpg my Partner in Crimes and I have been working on: "Stories from a Theme Park After the Apocalypse." It's a mapmaking and storytelling game in which you build a park and describe how a community came to settle it.

Hal Roach, producer of Harold Lloyd’s 1910s silent comedies and Our Gang and Laurel and Hardy shorts in the ‘20s and ‘30s, could’ve cast a mail-in vote for Bill Clinton. (he died the day before the election.)

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.

My crew and I may have finally become obsolete in the world of MAGFest guests. Since MAGFest 2, we’ve been invited every year and have hosted panels, game shows, improv, live D&D, the even first game jam. But alas: with no hotel lottery winners and our liaison not getting back to us, we may be out.

The news cannot show what is happening in Chicago because the FAA banned all non-government drones for 12 days over a 15-mile radius (100s of square miles). They don't want anyone watching them disappearing our neighbors. They don't want anyone reporting what they're doing. Please, don't look away.

My alderperson was cuffed by ICE agents because she showed up and asked if they had a warrant. The agents are wearing masks and not displaying badges, in violation of city policy. My neighbors are organizing grocery pickup for perle afraid to leave their homes and standing watch over school pickup.

Oh, I did buy a Playdate.

So, much like the portmanteau of the "Wii-60" (Wii and XBOX 360), this is a Steam-Date household. Play-Deck? Date-Deck? Deck-Date.
Up until last week, my last gaming hardware purchase was a new graphics card in March 2020.

I bought the Steam Deck on sale so that I could continue to get more value out of the games I already own. And I genuinely have no interest in what any of these companies have to offer me.
2025 is, among other things, the year of the gaming price hike

Since April, there have been eight major price increases impacting a mix of hardware, accessories and services from Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony
