I once more would like to bring it to everyone's attention that baby dresses have these really nice big pockets....why does a baby need pockets on their dress? And why do clothing companies think I, an adult woman, do not? #momlife #why #womensclothing

I call the dishwasher the washing machine sometimes. My husband says no, washing machines wash clothes. I ask where does the name "washing machine" say that? Is a dishwasher not a machine? does it not wash? #funny #authorslife

How come pants made for literal babies have better pockets than women's jeans? I really don't want my baby to have pockets...do you have any idea what they'll put in there?! #momslife

Ah yes, when you don't want to write the prologue so you just summarize it. #booksky #writerslife

Husband: The English language was made up in a locked room full of monkeys

Me: I thought they were writing Shakespeare

Husband: Yeah but they made the English language first

Astra and Louko coded from A Daughter's Ransom by @scharareeves.bsky.social. I'm just picturing them from a certain scene.

Coffee is a writer's best friend. Or at least...this writer's best friend.
Sorry Becca. #booksky #writerslife #coffee

🤣 Okay, this will now be my headcanon forever. Boromir was my favorite character as a child and I used to make up all sorts of alternate endings where he didn't die.
After faking his death at the hands of the Uruk - Hai, Boromir found a quiet corner of middle earth to set up his dream life goal as a pretzel baker

Trying to post at least one thing daily, except our lives are not particularly interesting so it's hard to figure out something we can post about 🫣😅 #writerslife #booksky

“You know,” Louko pointed to the door. “Actually, I think I’m good to go scream at a wall for a couple more minutes…. Carry on.”

There was this historian who was talking about how fairytales weren't meant for children until around the Victorian era, and it reminded me of that quote by C.S. Lewis: "When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up" #booksky

The hype for spring has begun. I have bought seeds and am determined to try and grow some annuals starting inside this year. Now can it be spring already? #writerslife

Currently speedreading through books 1-7 to prep for book 8 to make sure we have everything in a row, and wow the characters have grown a lot since the start of the series 👀. Anyone else's books have a lot of character growth from beginning to end of a WIP/Book/Series?

Anyone have specific characteristics that their characters maybe accidentally ended up taking on? For instance, Niamh always talks about the weather when she is anxious and unsure what to say, and so Louko ends up talking about the weather in his head a great deal because he is anxious 😆 #booksky

Hey, look, one day, I aspire for someone at the gym to mentally label me "buff grandma." It's basically an award.

After all this time, I can't believe we're on the final stretch of this series. Book 7 is with our editor and we've been working through book 8(last book of the series). #amwriting #amediting #amrevising

Sorry we have continued to be MIA. Niamh had a baby and life has been absolutely crazy 🫣. Hoping we can start being a bit better about posting on here. #writerslife

Went to the store and they had this Halloween soap with a little Dracula cape around it. The soap was red, and I almost picked it up because who doesn't want to wash their hands in the blood of their enemies?!

Okay, but Askefise literally opens with the following:

Chapter 1

"Is he dead?"
I nudge him with the toe of my boot. "I don't think so."
