Katana Zero is a big inspiration for my game. I spent time making a custom lighting shader for these rim lights! It's all automatic, no normal maps or sprite masks. Might post a tutorial in the future if there's a demand for it.

Follow up on Joe, the invincible robot who handles environmental damage... Well, I think Joe has to be locked away for now.

If he is enabled in the scene, for some reason, he uses 100% CPU and tanks the performance of the game. This is not a joke.

This is Joe. Due to how damage calculations work in SCAVENGER ZERO, the game will not function if Joe is not loaded in the scene. You will never see Joe in normal gameplay. Say hi to Joe

Working more on the "lore bible" for my game today. It's a HUGE document that contains the entire history of SCAVENGER ZERO's world. It's mainly for reference & to ensure consistency when I'm writing, but maybe I'll share it some day

For the tilesets on the new water planet I'm using a mix of auto-tiling and manually-added details to help blend between layers. My end goal is that all planets in the game will match this level of quality by the end of March. Still WIP!

Working on optimizing the game for the upcoming demo. Yesterday I fixed a common freezing issue when entering/exiting the garage menu. Today I will be attempting to implement Unity DOTS / ECS.
