Mallorcan but also a bit Basque, and with a pinch of Britishness, a touch of Swedish and some Bosnian for good measure.
A very thoughtful, well-researched and argued piece. Worth a careful read

I wonder if considering the 1st Amendment issues of Trump suing the BBC might be beyond the point.

Trump has sued many for libel and got huge payouts out of it despite not having a ground to stand on. The 1st Amendment is not a great protection if the man suing you has unfettered power

👋🏻94% of provincial capitals in Spain have seen a decrease in the number of Spaniards living in their centres over the past decade.

I look at why and ask: What’s a city without citizens?

The extent to which meanness and stupid trolling has become an integral part of "alt-right" politics never ceased to amaze me.

A strong "we have no ideas on how to make your lives better but we promise to annoy the people you dislike" vibe
So the president of the United States plans to meet with Putin in Hungary, and when a reporter asked where that plan came from, this was the reply of the United States government www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

A very interesting article (as always) by Tom Calver. It does leave me wondering if there's any research on Poles who moved to the UK in the 2000s and have since moved back. What are their occupations, ages, family status? How much are they now contributing to the Polish economy?
🇵🇱 My @thetimes column: Poland’s economic miracle

12 out of 17 Polish regions are now richer than West Wales. It has faster internet, cheaper electricity and more high speed rail than Britain

When it comes to regional development it’s the UK, not Poland, that needs to catch up

Will be worth a listen, at a time when Conservative Party politicians are going beyond Enoch Powell on a near-daily basis.
🚨NEW EPISODE🚨

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Enoch Powell: Rivers of Blood🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

In the 1960s, rising anger over immigration left many people disillusioned with established political leaders, whose careful rhetoric increasingly didn’t chime with the rising passions the issue conjured up. Enter Enoch Powell.
