Great to have @nathangrayson.bsky.social back on the show to understand how video games are part of Saudi Arabia reputation-laundering effort.

We also discussed the @aftermath.site refresh that you should definitely check out!
The Saudis are buying Electronic Arts in a massive $55 billion deal — but why would they want a games publisher?

This week @nathangrayson.bsky.social joins @parismarx.com to discuss how Saudi Arabia uses games to try to improve its image.

I missed the detail that Mark Carney ditched the luxury tax on private jets, yachts, and vehicles over $100,000 in the budget, though I also can’t say I’m surprised.

It's cool how Nexstar and Sinclair are making the point in real time that it would be incredibly dangerous for any one company to have a monopoly on the distribution of television shows, given the implications for free expression.

Unfortunately I think this administration will view that as a plus.
Breaking news: “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will return to nighttime television Tuesday, but station owners Nexstar and Sinclair are refusing to air it, setting up a battle between the network and those who carry its programming in dozens of U.S. markets.
ABC bringing Kimmel back to air, but some station owners are boycotting him
Nexstar and Sinclair say they will continue to preempt the late-night show, a move that affects dozens of markets, including D.C., Seattle and Nashville.

Scrolling through Instagram means experiencing a Frankenstein-like app of disjointed features stitched together. It’s an AI search tool! It’s a shopping app! It’s a map to find your friends! It’s getting on my last nerve.
What Even Is Instagram Now?
Long after shifting your feed away from friends and toward influencers, Instagram is adding new features intended to make the app more personal. The turnabout exposes the platform’s identity crisis.
