This is exactly how I feel about it
Writing is a skill.
Sculpting is a skill.
Drawing is a skill.
Acting is a skill.
Skills can be learned, honed, perfected.
While there are people using AI as accessibility devices, the majority using them just don't want to do the work. They want to farm the people who DID invest the time.

Y'all, discoverability is harder than ever. With Twitter all but gone and publishing being --in a mood-- your favorite authors are floundering. We don't know how to reach our fans or find new readers. Telling someone about a book you love is a really big deal. That's the #1 reason people buy books!

One of my favorite things to do as a writer is find AMAZING bookstores. The fact that verbatimbooks.com is local makes it all the more magical. Add it to your lists people!

There is no power on earth for authors like word of mouth. Especially with the death of Twitter, so many of us have lost huge chunks of our reach. So please, if you love a book, tell your friends and talk it up on your social media. No voice is too small, every single word counts. And thank you!
