Pretty incredible that Jeff Bezos' Amazon announced a "$5 billion-plus" partnership w/ a Saudi AI co launched by Mohammed Bin Salman and sent CEO Andy Jassy to meet with him less than 7 years after MBS murdered Jamal Khashoggi, a columnist for Bezos' Washington Post.

CNN: Spending six weeks at a detention center.

Was she on a holiday? A field trip? And she would have been still detained without the judge’s order for her release.

There's no such thing as a self-made man or woman. No one succeeds without support.

"I did it on my own" is a sign of insecurity and entitlement. Acknowledging help is a mark of confidence and humility.

Giving credit to others doesn't undermine you. It elevates them.

63 studies: women who assert their ideas, make direct requests, and advocate for themselves are liked less.

They're also less likely to get hired—and it hasn't improved over time.

When will we stop punishing women for violating outdated gender stereotypes?

"If the state can deprive an individual of his freedom just because of his politics, which is what appears to have happened here, then no one is safe. You may believe that Khalil does not deserve free speech or due process. But if he does not have them, then neither do you. Neither do I."
The detention of Mahmoud Khalil puts all Americans fundamental rights at risk. And if you can’t see that because you oppose his politics, well that’s exactly the reaction Trump and his cronies are counting on. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

In cutthroat cultures, people kiss up and kick down. They protect themselves by currying favor with people in power and exploiting those without it.

In supportive cultures, people speak up and shield down. They protect others who lack power by raising problems to those who have it.

This is a quotation by Bertrand Russell. Don't read it too quickly and miss the word "NOT":

Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate.

There was so much snow in my townhouse complex that they had to send in several trucks to remove it because there was nowhere to put it.

I’m going back to the photos I’ve taken to remind myself of the beauty of snow, but I’ll be happy if nature gives us a chance to clean up now.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." ~MLK
