That’s my first 6 months on SLT done. In that time I’ve worked and become friends with an amazing team made changes, finished an MA, published a 3 year research report, turned 40, and just when the end of term was in sight, survived two Ofsteds in the last two weeks before Christmas. What a ride!!

Excited to see Carmel’s new book available to pre-order. In the basket, and looking forward to the release in April. Carmel’s experience in the classroom is unreal, and I can’t wait to read this treasure trove of wisdom. Proud of you @carmelbones.bsky.social 👏🏼

Huge congratulations to Sarah and Andrea on their Teaching History article. Great example of how we can champion lesser known voices in history, on this occasion, and so pleased to see the ESIS report being put into action. 👏🏼 @sehartsmith.bsky.social @endsexisminschools.bsky.social

Hammered on most listened by my 8 year olds love of K-Pop demon hunters and Hamilton, but where it’s my music, it appears I’m the same age as my parents. A strong year 🤦🏻‍♀️

So disappointed to receive an email from Girlguiding stating that as of today they are no longer trans inclusive. Such a blow to what had been such an inclusive organisation, and such a sad indictment of the times we are living through.

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.
