🚨BREAKING: The last journalists working for AFP in Gaza have said they can no longer work for the news agency.

They are out of energy and they are starving to death.

I have never seen a statement from a news organisation like it.

How will they build enough homes without people working in construction?
How will the NHS and social care survive?
How will they help the children who lose being with a parent?
How will they make up for the lost taxes?
How will they defend it when other countries reciprocate?
What next? 2/

As far as I can tell the immigration announcement this morning seems like it will harm key sectors (especially care), harm people who are living here, working, and are further than ever from citizenship, and legitimises Reform's agenda, giving them a boost. Great job guys!
This won't have much impact on net migration, but will hinder integration, promote "churn", and increase hardship.

Mean-spirited, unnecessary, and unpopular.

Important report on the need to embed a holistic, relational, compassionate, culturally sensitive and rights-based approach to mental health support for people seeking sanctuary in Wales
A while ago, following listening and learning from people with experience of substance use and sanctuary seeker services in Wales, we launched A Heart of Help report. We later approached @cymorthcymru.bsky.social and @welshrefcouncil.bsky.social to further explore how to embed a relational approach.

It's appalling that the Home Office has spent such an eye-watering amount of tax-payers' money defending their decision to keep Wethersfield open, given the overwhelming evidence of the harm it causes.

People seeking asylum must be housed in communities, not camps.
