Happy Aye Write opening night. I had front row seats to E S Thompson and Mairi Kidd discussing their latest books at
the Mitchell Library. I love hearing other writers talk about their work. These two had a cracking chat! ❤️📚

Looking forward to chairing this with irrepressible duo Claire Mitchell & Zoe Venditozzi, whose company I love, & Steven Veerapen, whom I'm excited to meet. Their books are terrific and I'm sure it will be a lively event. Please come if you can: Sunday (Nov 9), 6pm, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

We @womenslibrary.bsky.social are so sad to hear of the death of Elspeth King, writer, activist, curator of the People's Palace who fought so hard to collect & preserve Glasgow's social and working class histories. Her book 'The Hidden History Of Glasgow's Women: The THENEW Factor' is so important.

Often you’ll be walking on Dartmoor & some ponies will be like “Follow us, we will lead you to the castle where the wizard lives & life is perfect!” My advice, from experience, is to ignore them. Ponies are known liars who will make up any old shit to briefly relieve the vast boredom of their lives.

3 things Starmer could do instead of camps in old barracks that would actually WORK👇

1. Create safe, regulated routes to apply for asylum in the UK

2. Let asylum seekers WORK & support themselves

3. Fast track status for people from obviously unsafe countries

I was out walking Dotty last night when four teenage boys ran down the street dressed as nuns. Dotty barked cos WTF. 'You look great,' I shouted. 'Thanks missus,' one of them got out as he whizzed down the hill. Glasgow at hallowe'en, never change. 🖤🤣
