Tomorrow, Virginians will decide what they want the future of our Commonwealth to look like.

Virginia — you deserve a Governor who will be laser-focused on lowering costs and making life easier. You deserve a Governor who will put you first.

Let’s build that future together.

Not to put too fine a point on it...
Dems: We’ll vote for a budget if you let sick people go to the doctor.

Republicans: Let us take doctors away from sick people or we’re gonna take food away from poor families.

I get it. Ohtani is an amazing talent. Pretty sure there are other guys playing in this game, but you would never know it from the commentary. #WorldSeries

Exactly this.
This is what I know about Republicans: they don’t want us to have healthcare or food. They don’t want us educated. They think people are only worth as much as they can produce in GDP. They don’t like gay people or trans people. They treat women with disdain.

I would never vote for a Republican.

When the president is destroying national landmarks, murdering fishermen, raising prices because he's angry over a Reagan video, and kidnapping parents in front of their crying children is probably not an ideal time to have a lazy, completely incompetent legislative branch perpetually on vacation.

I hear *someone* is having a sale next week.

I guess they have to try and recoup some of that $2.5 billion they’re forking over for *checks notes* being deceptive? Who would’ve thought?

Feels like Oct 7 & 8 will be prime days to support independent bookstores. 😌

The near daily barrage of deadly mass shootings in America feels like low level warfare against normal citizens who just want to live in peace. And because people keep electing Republicans who won’t do anything about it there’s no solution in sight.

That melancholy time when the baseball regular season draws to a close. Objectively, my beloved Nationals had a terrible season. But, I sure will miss them during the long, cold off-season.

It's time for ABC to take it to Nexstar and Sinclair!

Affiliates that refuse to air network programming may be breaching their affiliate agreements.

If they continue to refuse to air Jimmy Kimmel, then ABC should pull live sporting events... including SEC football and Monday Night Football.

I haven't had time to read up on the latest shooting, but I'm going to post my incredibly radical position that a shooting is bad no matter who did it and no matter who was shot.

Stop trying to crack the code of a shooter's motives and focus on the one thing they all have in common -- the guns.

I found this birding book along the side of the road on the Tamiami trail in the Everglades on 8/25/25. It is so well loved with sightings going back decades. If you're a birder (I am not) please spread the word and hep me find the owner so they can be reunited

Compelling nonfiction, beautifully told - somehow NIcholas Day ties together a volcanic eruption, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, climate change, and the invention of the bicycle. The brisk pacing and frequent asides keeps it all engaging. Another Sibert bid.

An allegory infused with magical realism that speaks forcefully to our times. Barnes defends the humanity of Black boys, humanity that is too often trampled. Prepare to do some deep thinking about some uncomfortable truths as you listen to this remarkable book.
