It is impossible to narrow down my favorite books to a tidy list. Here are some I loved - some written for adults, others written for young readers. (If you only read "adult" books, you are really missing out.) These books helped carry me through a difficult year. Here's to an easier one to come.

I can’t wait for the day we start ripping out all that golden shit out of the White House and tearing his name off of every taxpayer funded building in the country.

Hand's down - the best ABC book I have seen in years. Hilarious *and* educational. Thank you @nosycrowus.bsky.social for opportunity to make 2 educator guides for this gem - preschool and early elementary. Keep an eye on those Nosy Crow books - they are amazing. nosycrow.us/teachers-res...

While Amazon is investing billions of dollars to expand AI, independent bookstores are hosting community events, personally recommending books to readers, and providing a space that is safe and welcoming during a time when we need them most.

Never underestimate the power of a local bookstore.

A reminder that we don't have AI-powered features. We have bookseller and user-powered features.

Because y'all are the real readers...and we actually care about your feedback and your privacy ❤️

Not sure about the "architects of AI" being the TIME person of the year, but Indie booksellers, librarians, & library workers are def our winners.

They continue to fight book bans and support their communities by creating safe spaces, mutual aid drives, and opportunities for curiosity and escape 🩵

A community that bans Wishtree is a community that desperately needs it.
@kaaauthor.bsky.social's book is about a community, nudged by a wise old oak tree, coming together to welcome strangers into their midst. If you haven't read it, you should - it is a masterpiece of storytelling.

If you happen to be looking for an alternative audiobook listening platform, there are many out there, including us at Libro.fm 👋

We aim to build community in many ways, including by supporting independent bookshops with every purchase you make—versus tearing communities apart.

If you're buying gifts for the holidays, maybe consider supporting artists, writers, creators. Gift someone a Patreon, commission an art piece, buy a book, purchase handmade jewelry, etc. Your support means everything.
