Today's the day (again!)
We’re honored to collaborate with Bellingcat for another article‒this time about the recent assault on Goma.
Rwanda-backed M23 rebels are consolidating their control over Goma, a city of approximately 2 million people. Clashes dominated the streets earlier this week forcing residents to stay inside. Bellingcat has been monitoring the ongoing crisis… www.bellingcat.com/news/2025/01...

Russian state media are today alleging that a Bellingcat reporter was involved in an attempt to hijack a Russian fighter plane.

We would like to make clear that Bellingcat had absolutely no involvement in the alleged activities and the accusations towards us are entirely false.

I will add that often the place the Nazis dig their claws in propagandically is on misogyny.

I've seen my fair share of dudes who present themselves as butch tough guy Nazi watchers and want the Nazis to see them as macho, too.

And once you're trying to impress Nazis... Oof.

I feel like I've spent today sorting through accusations of this guy being a groyper, only to find that those aren't based on anything. There isn't an indictment yet. The cops haven't handled this better, but seriously—posting without verification makes you no better than the right yelling "antifa."

Human rights violations don't have a geopolitical "side". They are universal and affect all alignments. Eliot discusses some of the bigger names in "but what about/now do the West" discourse, but read this, and apply it to the people pushing this brain rot wherever you see it.
The core problem is this, he doesn’t practice principled anti-imperialism. He practices inversionism: if the U.S. supports something, he reflexively takes the opposite side, no matter how brutal that side is, no matter the evidence.

Mexico has only one gun store in the entire country. Almost all criminal guns come from a handful of dealers in the 4 US border states, and the US gov fights tooth and nail for Americans to keep selling guns to cartels and buying their drugs, but somehow we’re the criminals
The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked Mexico’s lawsuit against American gunmakers. The June 5 decision is likely to mark the end of a yearslong legal battle in which Mexico attempted to hold American gunmakers accountable for violence committed within its borders.
