Before you engage with folks on this topic look through their account. Cause if it’s new, or following nearly no one, or posting nothing else but triggering replies, it has a motive. You don’t have to give them your precious time and energy. Protect your heart!!

Selfies can be great fun — or horribly dangerous. India, which has recorded many deaths from risky selfie-taking, is urging folks to stay safe when they hold up their phone for a pix.

This is a good one. Check out the hail in that photo.
August 1st, 1985:

A significant hail storm and flooding event impacted Cheyenne, Wyoming. Over 6 inches of rain was recorded by the local NWS office, and totals over 7" were logged elsewhere. Hail up to 2" piled in drifts throughout the city.

8.8M is a HUGE earthquake.

Remember, earthquake measurements are more exponential, so an increase from 7 to 8 isn't a small step, but a big jump.

This is an unfortunate loss. Terrell is a skilled professional, very knowledgeable about his work.

His short tenure started during the dreaded snow & ice earlier this year. We were able to work together immediately to have SLPS leadership join our city command calls.

Read this article.

Then, go make sure your local emergency management agency is funded properly.

Hint: $500,000 doesn't cut it in a city.

Thinking about how people went so wild over a supposed/made up child abuse ring in a pizza parlor basement, but aren't nearly as fired up over an entire pedophile island resort, complete with jet service.

This right here. 👇🏼

And also, fund local emergency management NOW!
If you're new around here: The actions taken by the Trump administration against FEMA have made it impossible for FEMA to effectively respond to any large disaster.

This is what we have been warning about for the past six months. I'll drop some links if you need to catch up.

It's alot.

It's frustrating enough when someone asks questions about something sent in an email because they didn't read the whole email.

But, when you give someone a letter, maybe read it all the way through to make sure it really says what you need it to say and is aimed at the correct person.

In just ONE HOUR, the Guadalupe River in Comfort, TX rose 26 feet. That's an average of a one foot rise every 2-3 minutes. Catastrophic flooding is underway in the Texas Hill Country. With additional rainfall, it could go significantly higher still. #TXwx
