Love this! Clear labeling is so important, especially for parents trying to make healthy choices for their kids. Just like the MyPlate resource I shared, breaking down these confusing claims helps families focus on what really supports good nutrition. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Talking about people matter. Just like Tom Carroll’s story showed, small steps can create change, and using respectful language supports both people with eating disorders and those in larger bodies. Everyone’s experience deserves care and starts with just one step @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Tom Carroll’s story showed me that lasting change starts small. His choice to eat one consistent, healthier meal each day proved that progress comes from routine, not being perfect. I’ll remember this when looking over my own diet to build realistic, sustainable habits. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I see what you mean about keto; it might help with weight loss or managing health issues, but shaming people for their weight or food choices doesn’t help at all. Supporting each other and focusing on healthy habits works much better. As well as the way we frame stuff. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I learned this week that fat shaming actually makes things worse. Fat shaming can lead to depression, anxiety, and even overeating. Moving forward, I will focus on empathy and understanding when talking about health and weight, both in my life/daily life and work/school. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Planning with a shopping list helps me. I often skip meal prep when I’m busy, but having a list would make it easier to save time, stick to a budget, and choose healthier meals instead of quick takeout. Also, bulk shopping so I have more time it's all about managing time. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I relate to the barrier of a lack of motivation to eat healthily. Even when I know the better choice, I go for what’s quicker or tastes better, especially during stressful weeks. It’s easy to think it doesn’t matter much right now. But it'll always affect me afterwards. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

The mindset we bring to food is just as impactful as the food itself. When eating becomes tied to stress or guilt, it disconnects us from our body’s actual needs, like sleep. Taking a more mindful and flexible approach can make decisions feel less pressured. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
We talk about what to eat, but less about how we think about it. The stress, judgement & fear around food choices aren’t just exhausting—they make eating decisions harder. We don't think as clearly. We default to habits & jump to conclusions... That’s probably not helping anyone eat better.

I read about Vitamin D supplements helping with bone health and calcium, too much can cause nausea or kidney issues. I learned that even vitamins can be harmful in high doses. It reminded me to always check dosage labels and ask questions when unsure. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Intermittent fasting can support weight loss, better insulin control, but it’s not proven to outperform regular calorie restriction. It can be difficult to sustain and may trigger overeating or disordered habits. Overall, it might work for some people, but it’s not ideal for everyone. @beh353 #beh353

My favorite food to make is pasta! A more nutrient-dense option is I switch it for protein pasta, which is lower in carbs but high in protein, which also means I'll be fuller. I also try to make my own sauce, so I know everything that is put in it(usually red sauce).
