TIL there's a German word specifically for when something in real life is so ridiculous that it seems like satire. The word? Realsatire.

Every single brand needs to sit down and watch the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District @neorsd.org show how compelling brand-building communications is done. Chock-full of personality and genuinely educational. I've sincerely looked to see if they sold merch ( @neorsd.org when you do let me know)

When I was a teenager learning about concentration camps, a horrifying image that stuck with me was that after they were shaved and disrobed, prisoners were forced to sit so closely that they were sitting V-style within each other's legs. Then I saw this today.

@booker.senate.gov is making me a proud New Jerseyan. I hope this helps shame his colleagues into doing their jobs as though we're in the crisis we're in.

@democrats.senate.gov I'm sorry, but your tone-deaf fundraising texts are the single thing making me less likely to donate.

This is great and very badly needed - but it needs to start earlier.

This illustrates a concept I just learned - Brandolini's Law, or the bullshit asymmetry principle - that the amount of energy to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude larger than that needed to produce it.
RFK Jr. thinks that a clinical trial should be done for the entire childhood vaccine schedule. Here’s why that will never happen.

1. You can’t do a randomized trial of something that we already know is safe and effective. There would have to be a placebo group that didn’t get vaxxed. Unethical.

That's it in a nutshell. AI is great. IF you understand the asterisk.
That’s what I need everyone using ChatGPT to understand: maybe it’s drawing from an accurate website written by a human that you could find and read, but maybe it’s drawing from a shitpost.

How seriously would America take the inexpert opinions of a 53-year-old *woman* who'd had at least 13 children with at least 4 different partners?

(Have as many kids with whoever you want; I'm pointing out a hypocrisy, not offering a judgment.)

Reminder that a subscription to @wired.com can be yours for $12 and would be worth it at 10x that.
When we unionized a few years ago, a lot of peanut gallery types on social media wanted to tell me it would be the end of Wired.

Hope it’s now clear (thanks mostly to our insanely talented and hardworking politics team) that it does not work that way.

Unions are good.
