Reporting on the fallout is the best we can get. People with authority and duty of care chose this and as a society we rolled over for brunch.
It’s a slow-moving spiral: first their health, then their grades, then their future. Those for whom Covid looms very present are feeling forgotten, subject to pervasive skepticism and a kind of cultural fatigue when it comes to their illness.

If a study came out describing risk of pediatric long covid halved by a 2nd infection it would be front page news (above the fold for you olds). But double after 2nd infection we get crickets or p-value expert day.
