Sigh. Ollie Glover’s Railway Bill amendments - for passenger growth targets and a rolling programme of electrification - were spot on (constructive, well informed, necessary), and transport minister Keir Mather’s response on rejecting them is terrible (meaningless, irrelevant, worrying)

Great British Railways NEEDS a rolling electrification programme.
Sure, cutting carbon emissions is nice and needed, but this is about cutting fuel and maintenance costs and bringing our railways into the 21st century.
The fact that <40% of our railways are electrified is a national disgrace.
