The UK really needs more laws around political donations, billionaires and foreign interests dumping money by the millions into reform is clearly not healthy for a functioning democracy.

A controversial opinion in the UK: having a standard emails job then sitting in a house you bought for a song and watching it rise exponentially in value due to political choices that have nothing to do with you is not it fact “working very hard to get what you have”

5 years ago today my dad passed away. We still miss him dearly, more than can be described in the character limit of a tweet. But we still tell his stories and they still make people laugh. Rest in peace Mike McNally. Funniest Dad anyone could ask for.

watched a film on internet archive because i couldn't find it anywhere, and it had adverts from 1999 florida, and it was fucking fascinating watching old pre 9/11 adverts from what seemed like a decently small channel. Telephone tarot card readings, a catholic church, herpes meds etc fascinating

Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein was fantastic, the lighting and the sets were gorgeous and of course Oscar Isaac has never played a bad role in his life

Rachel Reeves inventing her own poll tax. Even after over a decade of tories she's insisting on lowering the bar for chancellor of the exchequer. Starmers front bench would be so funnily shit if it weren't so brutal ordinary people.
Cut bills. Tax billionaires.

This morning the Chancellor spoke of difficult decisions for everyone but the ultra-rich.

It’s time to tackle the cost of living crisis, end child poverty and invest in our vital public services by taxing extreme wealth fairly.

Private rent in UK now swallows 44% of the average wage.

Monthly cost jumps to record £1,385 outside London, £2,736 in the capital.

Lack of social and affordable housing, no rent controls, as govts appease corporations and the rich.

Profiteering creating poverty/despair, stifling economic growth.

I really struggle with any kind of subscription payment, but this is one I'll make an exception for.
Tomorrow I'll be on Laura Kuenssberg.

Will I be able to say "I can announce the Green Party have just overtaken the Tories in members!"?

It's tantalisingly close to happening!

It's not fun, but I've been so massively bummed out over the last few weeks, and it's not really even anything I can properly talk about or know how to handle. but here's me lightening the sad posting with my new tiny camera, because that's nice.
