My hometown!!! St. Thomas is so fascinating, and they’ve done some seriously incredible work on homelessness prevention. A fantastic blueprint for other small towns in Ontario.
Great news! Mayor Joe Preston of St. Thomas has rescinded his support of the use of the Notwithstanding Clause to clear encampments. St. Thomas has done great work on homelessness, and I applaud him for this conscientious decision to respect homeless people's Charter rights. caeh.ca/bright-spot-...
St. Thomas-Elgin addressing encampments with compassion
St. Thomas-Elgin has emerged as an example of what’s possible when a city commits to ending homelessness with strong leadership and a focus on permanent solutions.

This is absolutely insane. Our region doesn't have enough money to fund GARBAGE CANS at bus stops but has money to increase the police budget.

We need to get more people out to speak Tues Dec 3, 5:30pm at the Strategic Planning and Budget Input Committee meeting!

Waterloo Region is currently proposing some pretty detrimental cuts to transit this budget season, including removing garbage disposal from stations. I’ve started a petition with the UWaterloo NDP in opposition of these cuts. A signature and a share would be greatly appreciated!
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?

Did you know the upcoming Region of Waterloo budget proposes service reductions of route cancellations, frequency reductions, and removal of garbage cans at bus stops?

Delegate in support of GRT service expansions & against these reductions at the Budget Input Meeting on Dec 3 at 5:30pm.
