if you’re not an artist with experience in studio environments it might be hard to appreciate just how much genAI feels like a conman claiming to have made a gun that kills artists and every ceo lunging for it and pulling the trigger a few times

Been replaying Elden Ring. My first run was when I'd first moved to Canada, in a new apartment with no furniture or internet. I had my laptop on a box next to where I'd slept while waiting for my bed to arrive... The nostalgia's hitting hard 😩

Figured out aim offsets, added guns, and implemented basic shooting today. Starting to slow down and see the walls with this thing - I don't have the architectural knowledge to set up the systems and behaviors of a real game... Gonna see how far I get though

A quick look into the work our mappers do:
These pillars of some aqueducts start out as a blocky heightmap and is then decorated with lots of little details. That can take quite some time, and is done for all of these!

The model is a bootleg of a Sheik Mainland model, Fortishield (I'm not buying anything from those people after their recent "controversial" release).
The model itself is quite good, even if simplistic on its own.
