Trump is not just damaging the investability of Treasuries: some of the world’s biggest pension funds are halting or reassessing their private market investments into the US, saying they will not resume until the country stabilises after its erratic policy blitz

A Kenyan court ruled the case can move forward. This could set a global precedent.🧵

There’s kind of a big lesson in that Oren Cass has achieved total victory over economists—the president is implementing his signature policy proposal over the objections of 99% of them—and he personally is still spending all his time online in “erm ackshually” debates with PhDs

Good morning. Donald Trump was a 10-year study conducted by Harvard University to design a policy platform opposed by 100% of economists. We have now reached the successful conclusion of that study. Thank you for your time.

Some days ago I contacted the @ec.europa.eu to have an update on the request they made to X to provide additional documentation by February 15. I'm disappointed by the "reply"...

That's actually a very good question. For EU data, we have the EU-US Data Privacy Framework that should ensure the same level of protection as in the EU. If Trump becomes aware of this Framework and decides to scrap it, it won't be a good day for US cloud providers
Silly question perhaps, but is it safe to store data in the US?

At least the pandemic taught many academics how to collaborate remotely in an effective way. 😬

Today we're publishing a monster feature that dives deep into the initial six weeks over Elon Musk's government takeover. Our entire newsroom came together to help make this story happen. Read this culmination of our blood, sweat, and tears:
Inside Elon Musk’s ‘Digital Coup’
Musk’s loyalists at DOGE have infiltrated dozens of federal agencies, pushed out tens of thousands of workers, and siphoned millions of people’s most sensitive data. The next step: Unleash the AI.

Institutionalized corruption
When Trump was sworn in, Elon Musk's corporations were under more than 32 investigations conducted by at least 11 federal agencies.

Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE.

Funny how that works, huh?

Federal workers are now "prohibited" from accessing our reporting on "government-furnished equipment."

WaPo, NYT, and MSNBC are likewise banned, sources confirm.

New internet restrictions at the embattled SSA have cut off access to WIRED, along with other “general news” websites like The Washington Post and The New York Times.
