“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.
They run them bc people react to them the most.
If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Prospect Theory didn’t show EU theory is “wrong” and the Oprea paper doesn’t show Prospect Theory is wrong. But both are big steps in improving our understanding of decision-making.
I like Ryan’s paper and (obviously) I think complexity matters for behavior.
But I think Florian’s updating too much from one experiment. I want to see replications and results from ‘nearby’ designs before saying the lottery anomalies have nothing to do with risk.
