It’s all performative without the commitment to vote in every election forever.

Democrat.

EVERY ELECTION.

No performative votes, no virtue signaling, no purity tests, no abstaining, no third party, no splinter groups.

Find out who Black women support and vote for that candidate.

EVERY TIME.
Didn’t make it through walking Doggo. Got to the mailbox several houses down, then had to retreat home to drop her leash and go be sick. (Fortunately, the Resident Retiree always understands vertigo issues.) To bed and several hours of sleep, which has helped some.

Still having some vertigo issues from the bad spell earlier. I’ll be able to walk Doggo but otherwise will go to bed for the evening.

Please, if you won’t wear a helmet, put in writing you’re an organ donor because someone wiser than you can make better use of your organs.

¡NO HELMET, NO WHEELS!

Sitting didn’t do it, this vertigo spell is going to take a nap.

Remember Susan’s Mantra, my friends:

NO HELMET, NO WHEELS.

Because fifty-plus years of this shit is beyond aggravating.

Had fun alphabetizing chapter books for a bit but the bending triggered vertigo, so it’s resting I am.

WEAR HELMETS, PEOPLE, because this is such a goddamn pain. Not to mention, debilitating, economically ruinous, and inconvenient for everyone around me.

Just WEAR A HELMET. For me, if not for you.

Deleting almost all the texted pleas for $$ from Dems and such, but those purporting to be from James Carville and David Hogg, I delete AND report as junk. No idea if that inconveniences them, but eternally hopeful it does.

I love waking to the smells from a crockpot that’s been cooking away all night. Unplugged it so things will cool before I take the meat off the bones.

It’s just after eleven and I’m hungry, damnit.

Buying myself a pizza tomorrow.

A young man who grew up with my girlies has welcomed his first child into the world, courtesy of his wife.

He was such a gawky teenager and always the sweetest boy and now he’s almost forty and a father.

Can’t stop smiling for him and about him. Feeling so proud of our fellow.

AND HIS WIFE!😁😁😁

The store had no smoked turkey necks but lo and behold they had smoked PORK necks! I’d never seen those before. Ham hocks, yes, but not neck bones. Bought a package and used some—always prefer pork over turkey.

Someone’s dog outside is very unhappy about something and is letting us all know.

Well, fuxk fuxk and fuxkity fuxk, when I went to the freezer for the smoked turkey necks, THEY WERE GONE! I’VE BEEN BURGLED! THERE IS A THIEF AMONGST US!

On the plus side, I found a poor lonesome ice cream drumstick and put it out of its misery by eating it.

Off to the grocery store in a minute.

I bought Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s memoir but havem’t been able to bring myself to read it yet.

Soon, darling Virginia, with so much love and respect for you. . . .

My fellow white women, for the love of humanity, please stop teaching your sons that females are there for their use and pleasure.

My first concert was Neil Young in the Cow Palace, the “Comes a Time” tour.
Happy 80th birthday to my friend and high school classmate Neil Young. What a remarkable, incomparable talent. Across so many genres with so many unforgettable songs. Plus, he is a patriot of courage, moral force, and commitment. And a really good guy!

Saw an entry on eBay that cracked me up:

“Virgil’s Aeneid, by Virgil.”

Putting black-eyed peas to soak; will cook overnight in the crockpot with smoked turkey necks, onions, red pepper paste, and rosemary.

Hella windy outside, although the rain has diminished a bit. Getting dressed to check the neighbors’ gates.

Went so far as to close my bedroom window, which, like hurricanes in Hampshire, hardly ever happens.

Savemart has Golden Grain pasta 10 for $10; will buy for two local little pantries.

These women are examples to us all on not only surviving, but holding the guilty to account. Mind-blowing bravery.
Epstein survivor Haley Robson is saying what survivors have lived in silence: it’s enraging to watch Maxwell get grace, platforms, & preferential treatment while survivors get nothing. A system built to protect the powerful and abandon the people they hurt: corruption in real time.

Relieved beyond measure.
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) granted clemency to 46-year-old Tremane Wood on Thursday, sparing from execution a man who was sentenced to death for a killing his brother admitted to committing.

Tremane Wood Spared From Execution In Shocking Decision
His case marks only the second time Gov. Kevin Stitt has commuted a death sentence since entering office in 2019.

Thinking and bumping outside like in a toddler’s Halloween boardbook. Checked all our doors, all is well. Checked neighbor’s on one side, also all well. Have to get dressed before checking the neighbor’s on the other side—her gate sometimes doesn’t fasten.

There are two grapefruit trees outside my bedroom window. The fruit is vile, the branches are armed with long spikes that rend and tear, but their stiff leaves being pelted by rain makes such soothing music—so I let them live.

Lying in bed now, cosy and warm, enjoying the soundtrack of the storm.

Time to get myself to storage to get more blankets; I’m cold.

Spent a productive hour readying my grandma-mobile for winter; feeling good that’s done.

So I try not to give too many gory details about life with long covid, but I also think it’s important to give a clear picture of what can happen to anyone.

Over the last yearish, I’ve become allergic to more than 70 foods. Today I lost soy. I’m not how long I can keep eating at all.
