This is a great list. Also buy Little’s book “The Examined Run” if you are a runner, a thinker, someone who does both or neither. It’s valuable because it provides insight into your why regardless of your how.
Your own misadventures may seem trivial once you read about Odysseus’ 10-year trek home full of unanticipated obstacles. These include a cave nap with a Cyclops and a steep, mid-race descent into actual hell.

If you go for a short run, remember to budget enough time for after the run for when your toddler greets you with hugs and tears like you have been lost at sea for 40 years.

The first thing people ever compliment about children is their cuteness, which is annoying when you're trying to teach them to be substantial people and they keep having their attention turned back to their appearance.

Ending the year with about 3,600 miles, which is within 30 miles of my totals from 2024 and 2023. Apparently I am as consistent with my running schedule as Kant was with his daily walks, and he was such a fun guy, so...

A few days ago, I was celebrating 6ish months averaging 80ish mileage with a baby, two other kids, and a new job in a new state. Then I slipped hard on black ice and haven't been able to run in 3 days.

Why are so many political leaders bench-pressing on camera? It's complicated.
