A nice haul from UltrAspire. Now if it were only warm enough for a T-shirt or hat. Can't wait to wear those or head out for a run with the water bottle, knowing the drink won't freeze 5 minutes in.

12+ bike miles in Central Park, well, virtually. Too bad it really wasn't NYC but it was a great way to get the legs moving.

Nice ride with a mix of moderate-hard effort and a long sustained moderate effort.

Keep showing up.

Rest and recover well.

Onward!

"How do I train for hills when I live in [insert flat place]?"

As a running coach, this is a common question I get. Good news: you don't need mountains to build hill fitness.

Here are options such as parking garages, stair steppers, and treadmills that work.

7 easy miles around blustery downtown Indy. Done.

Not quite a calm before the storm but moderately better than what is expected over the weekend for my Saturday and Sunday runs.

Will it be subzero runs?

Will one or both be through six inches of snow? More? Less?

A new year can feel heavy for an athlete. There’s pressure to reset, recommit and decide what kind of season is ahead.

For some, goal setting feels motivating.

For others, it brings anxiety, self-doubt or a sense of dread, especially if you’re coming off injury.
